Sorry for no blogposts, but I am quite busy with writing my exam for the university right now. The subject is ”What do the Maltese government and the divecenters do when it comes to sustainable diving tourism here in Malta?”. Nice topic, don’t you think? ;)
Found a nice article in the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet today.
Already in 2009  Danish marine archaeologist found the wreck of a large warship of the Fehmarn Belt between Denmark and Germany.
It is approximately 35 metres long and has 32 or 33 guns, says Jørgen Dencker, the marine archseologist.
The Danish marine archaeologist at Vikingeskibsmuseet in Roskilde has kept the discovery a secret, in order to be able to examine it in peace and quiet.
Archaeologists believe that the ship is almost as old as ”regalskeppet Vasa”. The wreck lies in Danish waters, about eight miles south of Rødby.
Not entirely sure
”We are not completely sure, but on the 13-14th of October 1644, we know that it was a major naval battle here between the Danish fleet and a Swedish-Dutch fleet. Three ships were sunk in the battle, including a Dutch and it may be that one we have found, ”said marine  the archaeologist and project manager Jørgen Dencker.
Danish, German and Swedish divers are in full swing with exploring the old boat. Like the Vasa the pieces of the wreckage outside of Rødby are in good condition.
It is much smaller than the Vasa, it is no royal ship. The sides have released and dropped down into the sediment bed. Where have they been preserved well over the years, says Jørgen Dencker.
The salvage of the wreck is currently not an issue and is likely not to be so in the future either, says the Danish marine archeologist.
– No, it should not be towed but we can learn a lot from it; we hope also that it may be a protected area in the future. If they will build a bridge or tunnel between Denmark and Germany, they may consider it.
Studies on the Danish side is expected to be finished in three weeks. Then take dives in German waters for more parts from the old warship.
That’s cool! I wish I could find a ship like that here in malta hehe.

The evening after I passed my IE, I should be out drinking haha but instead I spent the evening at Dolmen hotel with 25 kids and their parents :) . It was a classmate to Arijeta that had his birthday party and it was actually really nice!

They had a animation team there who blew up balloons and made swords and flowers and spent hours playing with the kids :) . Then we enjoyed a mini buffee and a nice cake buffee after that! So no hard feelings about missing a night out drunk, when I woke up today I felt really good about not having a hangover hehe.

Today we spent the day cleaning the house and then around 15.00 we took a nice walk down to the sea and spent some hours there looking for shells :) Dante found thousands as usually!

Now it is time for bed and tomorrow starts a new week with new possibilities :) . Can’t be better!

See you!

”Hello guys, my name is Camilla and I am your instructor for today.”

Yeah, I did pass the IE today and I am not going to write more about that right now! I am going to enjoy a nice lunch with my family and then I’m off for a birthday party at Dolmen Hotel in Bugibba. 20 kids… could it be worse? haha

Nothing really matters… because I am an Open Water Scuba Instructor and yeah, I have been working hard during two weeks. But it was SO worth it!

See you later on guys!

Ok all readers… Tomorrow it’s the Day. IE which means Instructor Development. I am more ready than I will ever be I think, I am SO going to make this! Have to be confident and everything will be fine, just have to keep my nerves in control :) .

You know you are close to the exam when:

1. You haven’t seen your family for 2 weeks.

2. You don’t know what date or what time it is.

3. You dream nightmares about letting people go down with their snorkel instead of the regulator.

It’s a crazy course but I have learnt SO much in these two weeks. It is amazing to see and feel that change and I would like to thanks all the staff at Divewise for your help with everything. You guys are great! You gave me memories for life…

I am NOT studying today, I am relaxing and listening to this song that you see below. It makes me happy and bring back memories of Malta 2011 when I and Dante spent many days at the Splash & Fun :) . Good memories…

See you soon…

Today I do not have time to write a giant blog post I’m afraid :( , but I do have time to put in a picture of something that the Dive Center recieved today by mail from England – My Dive Master certificate and diploma :D .

I will hopefully have another diploma on Saturday ;) but this will do until then haha. Today we did a Rescue Excercise and I got 4.8/5 on that one so I am more than satisfied.

Now some cleaning and then an early night I think…

I can’t get it that it is only two days left until the IDC finish and it is time for the IE :) . Crazy how quick time passes!

Today we did a classroom presentation. Mine was about critical incident stress and I got 4.8, so I am happy! :) Then we went through the wrong answers we had on the test exam yesterday and the few questions I had wrong are no longer unanswered haha :) .

Then we were off to the National Pool to do our confined skill presentations. I had ”hover” and that went great! 4.6 out of 5 points. I spotted the problems and solved them :) . My hovering is really getting good now in the pool. I hope it will be that good in the Open Water tomorrow. I am doing a Rescue Exercise tomorrow by the way, thanks Jon for your good advice!

(The deep pool at the complex)

(We had a wonderful day here and I got the worst tan ever – ”bar tan”)

We were back at the dive school at 5.00 pm and went throught the physics, that is what most people struggle with on the IE. Many good advices so I am not really worries about it any more, but still I am not going to sit and relax, I still have to concentrate and get better. You never stop learning!

At 6.47 pm I took the bus home and when entering the house I found Raya in her new giant bed haha :) How cute isn’t she?

Now it is time to do some homework and then bedtime! 2 days left…

Ok.. now it is only 3 days left until on the IDC and then it is time for the IE. I am nervous but excited at the same time! Hopefully I am an OWSI on Saturday :) .

Today I went to St Julians with the bus and just before the bus turns left down to St Julians a car just touched the bus and the bus driver became so upset and went out to talk to the driver (typical Maltese haha hot tempered!). I decided to walk the last bit because here in Malta they are not allowed to move the vehicle if there is a damage on it caused by another driver. When the police comes he decides whos fault it is and nobody can say something else haha. Welcome to Malta! ;)

At 8 o clock we started with more powerpoint presentations about the Open Water Course and then we did a test exam for Friday. Out of 100% I got 75/90/85/90/85%. There are 5 sections and my weak side is physics. But at least I would have passed if it was the real exam since 75% is OK haha :) .

Then we went through the rescue Course and Adventure Diving etc etc. At 6.50 in the evening I took the bus home and was home about 7.30 – exhausted! Tomorrow I will do the same and the day after that and even the day after that day haha. But then it is ”over”!

I found a good picture that can describe the IDC very good…

Now I have done what needs to be done for tomorrow. I have a presentation to do about critical incident stress. Yeah I know… it is a subject I know a lot about right now ;) .

Have a nice evening!
